Rey Palpatine: God Damn I'm Confused!

This is a post that I have been looking forward to for a long time now. Ever since I saw Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters, I have been anxiously waiting to say my piece about how I feel about the complete incongruity of the entire 7-8-9 trilogy. And, now, is that time.

Perhaps the biggest incongruity within Episode IX is the fact that (spoiler alert) Rey is Emperor Palpatine's granddaughter! Given the direction of the previous two films, and the history/narrative of the previous six films, this surprise revealed in Episode IX makes absolutely no sense in the face of the immense canon of the Star Wars realm. This appears to be the work of lack of character development, or just lazy writing--I can't choose! Because of this cluster-****, I refuse to acknowledge Episode VII, VIII, and IX as canon. You may say I'm overreacting, that I'm "butt-hurt" or "salty", but I'm just fed up.

In Episode VIII, the writers portrayed Luke Skywalker, the most powerful jedi in the galaxy, as a washed-up ass-wipe who drank milk from a space-walrus' teet. I thought that was bad. BUT, in Episode IX, they managed to top it, giving Rey, a character who could barely master simple force mechanics, lightning and the title of Palpatine... WHAT?! On top of this, when she managed to defeat zombie Palpatine, Luke took her in as a Skywalker. When I walked out of the theater, I thought I was having a stroke because I could not process this middle-school essay of a film.

I'm sure you know how I feel about Rey and Episode IX, how do you feel! Expletives encouraged!
